First, allow me to apologize for dissing you quite so badly.  I did not catch the irony of your statements, that is obvious.  I don't generally read the posts to see who is talking to whom.  But when I find one that is praiseworthy I 'like' it and if I find one that ticks me off I respond to it.  As you can see, anyone who knocks our allies and friends quickly ircks me tremendously.  So, sorry and yes, I can go overboard when I get upset by things.
Now, to this post.  I think you are more correct than you probably know.  The Chinese, the people I told everyone not to do business with, are about to sink America and the West in a major financial way.  China is still run by people who are long term communists.  Some of them even remember the 'Long March', even made it themselves.  Many remember fighting against the western powers who backed Chaing Kai Scheck (I haven't written that name in so long I probably misspelled it.).  These people are and will remain sworn enemies of the west.  Our politicians sold out America, probably believing that if China modernized they would become democratic capitalists.  The problem is, the Chinese have no say in what they are or do.  They are run by a military junta that controls everything very tightly.  So what we have done is to put these leaders, enemies of ours, into an incredibly powerful position.  And to be very sure, they have taken full advantage of it.
First China destroyed American industry by illegally keeping their dollar value very low so their imports would be incredibly cheap.  Then they forced their people to work for wages like fifty cents a day to keep costs down.  Then they sold us goods at below cost many times just to undercut and destroy Western production.  They made money in the overall in volume selling so it was easy to target some industries even though it cost them to do it.  They put up very high and illegal tariffs on Western goods.  We took them to court, that's still pending and it won't matter what the outcome because long before the courts make a ruling it will be far too late for America and the west.
Aproximately 50,000 American factories sent their production to China.  Perhaps 6 million Americans lost their jobs directly as a result of that.  China continues to force it's money to stay low in value, it isn't done with us yet.
Just to make sure you know the full extent of this.  Years ago the U.S. signed an agreement with OPEC such that everyone who wanted to buy oil had to use U.S. dollars.  We call them PetroDollars.  So there is a forced demand for U.S. dollars.  Being the Reserve currency of the world means that everyone is supposed to buy and sell using U.S. dollars.  That has given the U.S. government the ability to just print money.  So that is what they've done.  Our dollars has lost an incredible amount of value, but the effect is hidden because of PetroDollars and being the Reserve currency.  It's not really hidden, we just aren't feeling the effects of that as yet.
Here's the real rub.  China is buying gold like there is no tomorrow.  Hundreds of tons per year.  They hide as much of their purchases as possible but it is obvious they are the world's major gold buyer.  They are also buying gold mines.   They have been dumping U.S. Treasuries for some time, trading them for mineral resources, oil fields, gold mines, iron mines, etc.  They are stockpiling gold, sliver, copper, aluminum, titanium, etc.  Huge stockpiles.  Why?
China is also making deals with everyone around the globe.  They just concluded a deal with Russia to supply them with oil without using PetroDollars.  They made a deal with Brazil and Iran to buy oil without using PetroDollars.  Other nations are going to follow suit.  Why?
China is giving away billions in aid dollars around the world.  Making friend who will support them when the time is right.  Why?
Once China has enough gold to back it's undervalued dollar, they are going to make a bid to replace the U.S. Dollar as the reserve currency.  They have done everything right to set it up to happen.  They will also replace the PetroDollar with their own currency.   A great many nations have lost a fortuen because of their holding U.S. dollars while the U.S. government has devalued the currency every time they can't pay their bills.  The U.S. spends one trillion dollars more per year than they bring in.  It's easy to see that China is in a very powerful position and quite ablt to win their objective.
This means a U.S. that no longer controls the world.  It means a drop in real lifestyle by anywhere from 25% to 65%.  I personally can see perhaps a worst case of 40%.  But that's still a huge drop in lifestyle.  The U.S. dollar is going to buy nothing in world markets.  China is going to raise the value of its currency and their goods will be very expensive for us to buy.  But there aren't any American goods to buy anymore so we'll have to pay their ripoff prices.  The EU will collapse as soon as the U.S. dollar does.  So will most of the western world.  The next recession, which will be entirley a western thing, is going to make 2008 seem like a picnic while China and its friends will be alright and even likely increase in their economic position.
As a final insult to injury the Chinese are building a military that will rival and outclass the U.S. very soon.  They are alredy using it to perform 'gunboat diplomacy' against several nations.  And soon, very soon, the U.S. won't be able to finance their own military.  Since the US will no longer be the reserve currency they won't be able to print money to cover any military costs and no one is going to lend the U.S. any money because the U.S. dollars will be continuously reducing in value in a desperate attempt to cover interest on the immense debts.
The future my friends and neighbors, is going to turn to shit very soon.  Sources in China, no, no one is going to name them and jeopardize their lives, say that China wants to move against the U.S. this year if possible (depends on if they get enough gold  this year) or next for sure.
Watch as Obama continues spending as if there is no tomorrow.  As if he wasn't abundantly aware of the situation.  Mayabe he's hoping that American oil deposits will come online fast enough to prevent all of this.  It isn't going to happen.
All I can say is prepare for the worst.  Runaway inflation.  Interest rates at 12% or higher, even on housing.  Hey, I've seen 24% interest in the early eighties.  I owned three houses and all the mortgages were floating.  That really hurt.  Just be ready and expect bad things to happen.  And when they do, don't expect a recovery, that will be the way things will stay for a very long time.
